The best defense mechanisms at Perranporth are the winds off the Atlantic Ocean and the quality of the greens, which are quick and challenging. The course opened for play in 1927 and its many raised greens will test every golfer’s chipping skills. Each hole is named in both English and Cornish. The 1st hole -- Vn Nans (Downhill), the 10th hole -- A-ves (Outward) and the 18th hole -- Deweth (Finish). TREVOSE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB The Trevose Golf & Country Club, designed by the great Harry Colt, opened for play in 1925. Currently, the club offers three courses – the Championship Course, a brilliant 18-hole links layout, the Headland Course, a nine-hole alternative and the Par 3 Short Course. The Championship Course overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, with white sandy beaches and dramatic seaside cliffs. The first nine holes of the Championship Course hug the coastline and sand dunes. The back nine is played away from the sea and leads back to the clubhouse. As a true links course, the ever-changing winds give Trevose a different look every day and the constant sound of the waves crashing only add to the experience. Indiana Golf Journal
