Dan won twice on tour and finished runner-up in the 1982 Masters, losing in a playoff to Craig Stadler. He had 70 career top 10 finishes and was inducted into the Michigan Hall of Fame in 2004. Dan built Pohlcat Golf Club in 1992 along the Chippewa River wetlands and was determined to offer the best shot values possible.
