FISHERS RESIDENT IS BUSY WORKING THE LPGA TOUR There’s a strong Hoosier presence on the LPGA Tour and it’s not a player, caddie, or a rules official. Fishers’ resident Matt Jesus is one of the LPGA Tour’s communications coordinators. He’s been in that role since May 2023, handling media and player relations, plus statistics and writing notes and recaps for LPGA tournaments. He normally works 15 to 20 to visit and travel to, both domestically and overseas,” said Jesus. “Before this job, I have only left the United States once and now I have visited four new countries across two new continents.” This year, his international travels have included visits to Scotland, China, and South Korea. He also worked the LPGA Tour’s Solheim Cup, which was held in Virginia in September. While the destinations where he travels can vary, the daily job responsibilities don’t change too much. “This varies depending on what day it is and what my role is that tournament,” added Jesus. “When I am the lead communications official on a day of play, I usually wake up early and get to the course about 10 minutes before the first tee time. Once things get events a year, attending 17 LPGA tournaments in 2024.
