Here we are in the next to last month of 2017. Cold weather will soon prevent any golf action in Ohio, but Golfaholics will be thinking about heading to warmer climes to pursue Birdies and Pars.
We want to welcome the members of the Miami Valley Golf Association to Ohio Golf Journal. We hope you enjoy the golf news, information and opinions we present every month.
With our new focus on Ohio Golf News, we include updates from the Columbus District, Northern Ohio District, Miami Valley District, as well as, the Greater Cincinnati District Golf Associations. Plus, there is a piece about the history of the Ohio Amateur and some of the familiar names that have won that event.
With the Thanksgiving holiday falling later this month, we wanted to provide our list of things we are thankful for in golf.
It may seem odd that we are featuring a Bowling Alley on our November cover, but Forest View Lanes is much more than simply a bowling facility. It is a family entertainment sports and recreation complex that has something for everyone in the family. Two About Golf simulators offer golfers a means to stay sharp in the winter and they also provide a great opportunity for parents to introduce their kids to the game in a comfortable atmosphere.
Another item of interest in this month’s issue is a look at the Amateur Golf Alliance that is helping to enhance and promote amateur golf in the U.S. Amateur golf has taken a back seat to the professional game, but a group of dedicated golfers is hoping to change that in the future.
We also want to announce that a sister publication the Michigan Golf Journal will begin offering the latest golf news from around the state of Michigan in January, 2018. We hope you will read both publications and support our loyal advertisers.
As always, GET OUT AND PLAY!!
I hope I see you on the Back 9.
