With a mission dedicated to enriching the lives of Veterans and their family members through sportsmanship and camaraderie of golf, the Veterans Golf Association (VGA) annually hosts more than 250 local tournaments for thousands of VGA members across the country, culminating in the National Championship.

VGA programs encourage members to compete, socialize, and remain physically active and reinforce integrity, respect and perseverance through the game of golf.

It all began when several wounded veterans, who were treated at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington DC, routinely met to play golf and encourage each other to improve their game, as well as, to heal through camaraderie and competition.

The Veteran Golfers Association was the first organization dedicated to promoting the game to all veterans and their family members.

The 2021 national schedule begins February 20 at the Silver Wings Golf Club, Fort Rucker, Alabama and concludes with the National Championship, September 27 at Doral Golf Club in Miami, Florida.

Regional qualifiers will be held throughout August in Birmingham, Alabama, York, Pennsylvania, Beaumont, California and Ridgedale, Missouri.

Tournaments in Ohio will be held beginning April 17 at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport and April 18 at Eaglesticks Golf Club in Zanesville.

In May, Apple Valley Golf Course will host the VGA on the 8th and 9th.

At the end of the month, on May 31, the VGA will visit Twin Base Golf Club at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton. The following day, June 1, NCR South will host the VGA in Kettering.

The tour visits Northeast Ohio with events at Avalon Lakes in Warren on June 12 and Squaw Creek on June 13.
