Ben DeArmond, originally from Northwest Ohio and now a club pro in South Florida, carded a 17 on a par 4 during the Web.com Tour’s Lecom Suncoast Classic in February.

He went on to post a 54 on the front nine and a 37 on the back. He said his arms went numb. He had never had something like that happen to him on a golf course even as a junior player.

DeArmond, who was competing on a sponsor’s exemption, posted 13-over on a single hole, carding a 17 after his tee ball and five more shots found a watery grave.

DeArmond played out the round and immediately became a Rock Star at his home club. They are supporting him 100%, for his “Tin Cup” moment. Having the fortitude, plus enough golf balls in the bag to finish the hole, post the score and keep on playing is a rare thing in professional golf today.

Many golf pros would have just packed it in right there and headed to the parking lot.com
