Long time CBS Announcer, Jim Nantz to receive 2018 Ambassador of Golf award at WGC Bridgestone Invitational.
Northern Ohio Golf Charities will bestow the 2018 Ambassador of Golf Award to CBS Announcer Jim Nantz during the WGC Bridgestone Invitational in August at Firestone CC.
The Ambassador of Golf Award is presented annually to a person who has fostered the ideals of the game on an international level and whose concern for others extends beyond the golf course.
Two former CBS colleagues, Frank Chirkinian, and Ken Venturi, were also recipients of the Ambassador of Golf Award.
Nantz said,
“I truly consider this to be one of the greatest honors of my career. I’ve attended this celebration many times and will never forget being there to see how much it meant to Frank and Kenny. The game of golf has been a blessing in my life and to be able to live out the childhood dream of covering the PGA Tour, well, I’m a lucky man. There are no words to express the depth of my gratitude for this recognition.”
The presentation will be held at Firestone Country Club, on Wednesday, Aug. 1.
