The 53 golf courses along the Florida Historic Golf Trail not only offer great golf throughout the state, but there are also delicious grills and restaurants located on the premises, that offer a variety of tasty treats to cap off your day.

The Riviera Country Club in Ormond Beach offers a one-stop golf and dining experience. Arrive early for the Hole-In-One breakfast. After your round dive into a Riviera Club sandwich, or sirloin cheeseburger, along with a bowl of Italian beef and rice soup.

Finish off any golfing experience on the South Course at the Daytona Beach Golf Course by sampling the fare at the Worm Burners Bar & Grill. Breakfast is served from 7:30 am and closes at 3:00 pm daily. The Worm Burner’s Bar & Grill is a fitting way to begin or conclude a day of golf at this Donald Ross design.

If your travels bring you to southwest Florida for a round of golf, visit the Fort Myers Country Club and stop for a bite at The Edison Restaurant & Bar. Three of the favorites are Southern Smothered Chicken, The Bright Idea Burger, and the Hole 19: B.L.T.

Weekday specials include, Mystery Monday, Taco Tuesday, All You Can Eat Fish Fry on Wednesday, 1/2 Price Cheese Pizza on Thursday, and Prime Rib! Friday. The Edison affiliation is a reference to Ohio’s own Thomas Edison, who was a member of the club back in the 1920s.  Edison actually played a role in hiring Donald Ross to design this golf course.

When you walk off the 18th green at the Lake Worth Beach Golf Club in Palm Beach County, visit The Beach Club On the Waterfront, which overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway. In addition to enjoying the spectacular views, sample what’s on the menu, especially the Nachos Beach Club and the Beach Club Catch. If you want to watch a game, 15 HD televisions will allow you to follow the score and dine in style.

Other popular items are the signature grilled avocado, chicken wings, club sandwiches, cobb salads, fish tacos, and, of course, its colossal cheeseburgers, which many guests say that is the best burger they have ever eaten. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are always served seven days a week.

Any trip to the Cleveland Heights Golf Club in Lakeland would be incomplete without a visit to their 1916 Irish Pub. Their Reuben, shepherd’s pie, chicken wings, and Kobe beef burgers are popular choices.

The pub revels in its Irish history. A large mural on the wall depicts the 1916 Irish Revolution, also known as the Easter Rebellion, which was launched to end British rule in Ireland and establish an independent Irish Republic, while the United Kingdom was fighting in World War 1.

“We have good golf, good food, and good drinks,”

says Brock Witmyer, general manager, Cleveland Heights Golf Club.

Plus, a lesson in Irish history!
