Have you ever wondered why no one has come up with an easier answer to regripping golf clubs? Golf Pride has broken the DaVinci Code and now every golfer can change their own grips.

No need for a vice chuck, tape, or solvent, simply use the internal friction torque mechanism that slides inside the shaft and ‘Voila’ you are ready to hit the links.

Regripping golf clubs has always been a giant hassle, even with the correct vise and workbench. The solvent in those squeeze bottles always seem to leak, so you need a paint tray to catch it. Plus, you need to make sure you have the grip tape applied correctly for the grip to slide over and adhere to.

It always seemed easier to spend a few bucks to have your local pro do the work for you

Golf Pride wants to cut out the hassle and has devised a unique way to do just that. At their Global Innovation Center in Pinehurst, North Carolina they developed the Concept Helix grip.

Simply slip the grip over the shaft using the horn tool, that is included with every grip order. Once the friction torque mechanism slides into the shaft, twist the horn on the grip’s end cap to expand the mechanism, which locks the grip in place.

No need to wait for them to dry, throw’em in the bag and head to the first tee.

For those who may not remember Golf Pride came up with the slip-on rubber grip in 1953 as a more convenient alternative to the traditional leather-wrap grips and currently are a major supplier of golf grips around the world.

A couple of points to consider:

  1. Concept Helix is currently only available in standard size. If you need oversize, or undersize, these are not for you.
  1. If you require multiple tape layers under your grips, or if you use grip sensors, such as Arccos to track swing data, these are currently not compatible.

The Concept Helix weighs in at 66 grams, which is 16 grams heavier than a regular Tour Velvet.
