Haylee Harford Gets Invite to Play in Augusta National Women’s Amateur

Haylee Harford, from Leavittsburg, has received and accepted an invitation to compete in the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur. She is currently ranked inside the top 50 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and will compete in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur with the final round to be held at the “Home of the Masters,” April 3-6. 

She was a standout golfer for LaBrae High School and was the No. 2 ranked Ohio high school player in 2014, plus she made it to the round of 64 at the U.S. Women’s Amateur the same year.

Haylee is currently a senior at Furman University and a member of the Paladins women’s golf team.

In 2016 she was voted Southern Conference Freshman of the Year and was named to the All-Southern Conference Team after tying for third at the conference championships.

In her Sophomore year she was named to the WGCA All-America second team honors and was named to the Golfweek All-America third team. Her best finishes that year came at the tied for individual medalist honors at the Minnesota Invitational, the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, and at the Brickyard Collegiate where she tied for medalist, plus she finished inside the top five in five events to go with nine top-10 finishes in 12 tournament appearances.

The Augusta National Women’s Amateur’s international field will consist of 72 of the top women amateurs from around the world. They will play 54 holes of stroke play, with a cut to 30 players taking place after 36 holes. The first two rounds will be contested over Champions Retreat Golf Club over the first two days. The entire field will play a practice round at Augusta National on Friday April 5th and the competitors making the cut after the first two rounds will play for the title on Saturday, April 6.
