Kent State Grad Wins Valero Texas Open

Corey Connors may be from Canada, but he is an adopted Ohioan, as he attended and played golf at Kent State. He was runner-up in the 2014 U.S. Amateur, graduated to the PGA Tour, from the Web.com Tour in 2017 and is now a PGA Tour winner.

Connors earned his maiden victory at the Valero Texas Open, besting Charlie Hoffman by two strokes.

He is having a very successful 2019 campaign and has earned over $2.2 million. The win in San Antonio is his third top-ten finish this season. He finished tied for third at the Sony Open in Hawaii and added a runner-up finish at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

Everything is looking up for the former Golden Flash, he is has moved to No. 82 in the world golf ranking and is No. 18 in the FedEx Cup standings.
