Before Florida was crisscrossed by interstates, invaded by Mickey Mouse, castles and Princesses, the state was known for its sandy beaches, sunny warm climate, cattle ranches and citrus groves.

If you are looking for a place that still holds to the Old Florida ways, visit Sebring in the middle of the state, where cattle ranches and orange groves out number the traffic jams and amusement parks that littler the landscape, just a mere two hours north of this little piece of paradise.

Seven Sebring Raceway Hotel

In May, the International Network of Golf (ING) held its 29th Spring Conference at the Seven Sebring Raceway Hotel, which sits along Turn No. 7 of the internationally famous Sebring Raceway. A custom Corvette decked out in racing regalia greets every visitor to the hotel and a sports car theme is carried throughout. The hotel just completed a total rebranding and was formerly known as The Chateau Elan Hotel and Conference Center.

The staff is friendly, helpful and will accommodate your every whim. Both the Sunrise at Seven and Apex at Seven will provide a culinary experience fit for any food aficionado. The hotel also features a pool, full-service bar, fitness center, event space and direct access to the track.

Sebring is filled with activities, several lakes provide outstanding fishing, the local Little Theater produces plays and entertainment, plus several golf courses will please the ardent hacker.

If you are looking for a vacation spot or retirement home with warm climate and plenty of activities without all the hustle and bustle, make the trek to Sebring. We enjoyed it and we think you will too.

Sun N’ Lakes

The Sun N’ Lakes complex on the northern edge of Sebring features an expansive clubhouse, tennis courts and two 18-hole championship courses, Turtle Run and Deer Run.

Deer Run is a par 72 with inviting fairways and Champion turf greens, that are always in immaculate condition. Turtle Run is slightly shorter than its sister course, but narrow landing zones, moguls that litter the fairways and deep sand traps provide an adequate challenge for any golfer.

Andrew Kesling, the Head Professional at Sun N’ Lakes Golf Club, talks about the two courses in this video interview.

Come for the week, month, season or permanently, Sun N’ Lakes has something for everyone.
