The City of Columbus, Indiana has owned and operated Otter Creek Golf Club, since 1963, when it was gifted to the city from Cummins Inc.

Along with Greenbelt and Par 3, the city operates three golf facilities, but they have only been marginally profitable.

The city recognizes the benefits of maintaining Otter Creek as a golf facility as it attracts golfers to the community, which benefits, local retail shops, restaurants and hotels. A committee has recommended that Otter Creek be sold to a private investor and divested from city ownership.
