PERRANPORTH GOLF CLUB When you play the Perranporth Golf Club, the views of the surrounding area are worthy of a portrait. The sand dunes are golden in color and the hue of the nearby sea changes, depending on the mix of sun and clouds. Course architect and five-time British Open winner James Braid recognized the natural contours of this seaside strip of real estate and took a ‘go-with-the-flow’ approach. Since he did not have access to modern bulldozers, or any kind of earth-moving machinery, he simply adapted what Mother Nature provided to create a classic links course. WEST CORNWALL GOLF CLUB Built in 1889, the West Cornwall Golf Club (WCGC) is Cornwall’s oldest course. It is one of the finest links courses in the county. Wind is always a factor, the greens run true, plus a myriad of options are available to the golfer on every approach. Panoramic views await on nearly every hole. St. Ives Bay and Godrevy Lighthouse form a memorable backdrop, plus the North Atlantic Ocean can be seen on 16 holes.
